    Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture or related field.
    Architectural licensure highly desirable.
    Minimum 12 years experience as a professional architect.
    The ability to travel to china.
    Prior experience working with projects in China.
    Advanced knowledge of construction materials, standards and codes.
    Previous experience handling commercial clients and accounts desired.
    Minimum 2 years previous supervisory and personnel management.
    CADD proficiency highly desired.
    Ability to speak Mandarin is a huge plus.
    Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
    Ability to complete tasks with accuracy and with strong attention to detail.
    Ability to consistently meet deadlines, completing tasks as previously defined.
    Ability to work with integrity, trust and commitment, setting an example for others.
    Ability to communicate clearly and concisely; both verbally and in writing.

We are currently seeking an Project Manager for our Global Commercial studio with experience working on China projects. This is a fully competent professional architect who works independently to lead and direct the work of the project team. This position manages the development and completion of one or more projects in a manner consistent with firm-wide standards for project delivery. This position is responsible for overall project management including client relationship, scheduling, budgeting and construction administration and is accountable for the quality of work performed,client service and profitability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (other duties may be assigned)

  • Defines client requirements and establishes project approach.
  • Project types may vary based on New Store Construction, Renovations and Existing Store Remodels.
  • Work with project Developer to coordinate all site requirements based on client's needs.
  • Ensures that all required information for design and planning is obtained.
  • Work closely with the Project Architect to establish code requirements and jurisdiction criteria to coordinate and oversee permitting process.
  • Manages client/firm relationship and all contractor arrangements.
  • Works closely with designers and project architect in establishing the project schedule, technical requirements, and budgets; may select team members.
  • Oversee Project Architect in the direction of consultant coordination with each project.
  • Directs and reviews the work of project team members, provides performance feedback, ensures team members' skills and project requirements are appropriately matched.
  • On-site construction observation with client and General Contractor during the construction phase of each project.
  • Researches and resolves problems; monitors project budget, schedule, and scope of work; negotiates fee changes as necessary.
  • Participates in reviewing Proposal Requests, Construction Change Directives, Change Orders, and Application for Payment documents.
  • Reviews client billing and does A/R follow-up as necessary.
  • May participate in preparation of proposals and may assist in presentation to the client and in contract negotiation.
