Provide accurate and timely employee garnishments, including child
support, tax levies, bankruptcies, creditor garnishments, and lump sum
payment orders for union, non-union, and salary employees through People
Soft Time and Labor. Also, ensure resolution of exceptions to
completion and reconciliation of daily interface files. In addition,
this position will provide customer service to our employees, agencies,
courts and ADP (third party provider). Along with frequent telephone and
email interaction with employees, agencies, courts and ADP (third party
provider).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES -
• Responsible for review and set-up for all garnishment orders with ADP
to ensure preparation of orders and correspondence for scanning are
timely
• Maintain entry and maintenance of garnishment rules in People Soft
including research and testing with Payroll Specialist to determine
proper withholding from employee withholdings according to state rules
and garnishment type
• Familiar with the laws and policies for various states regarding withholding
• Work closely with Accounting Department to ensure the Payroll Garnishment Account is reconciled monthly
• Assist with completion of wage verifications or subpoenas for employees and financial institutions as needed
• Vacation coverage for non-union employees
• Work closely with Payroll Specialist to assist with various payroll duties
• Follow all procedures and controls set up by department to ensure Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
• Monitoring & assigning calls from employees
• Monitoring payroll email box - assign to payroll specialist
• Sorting daily mail and other duties as assigned
