2014 Summer Tutoring Program

As the 2013-2014 school year is winding down, we want to make you are aware of the Summer Tutoring Program that will be offered at Destiny Christian School this summer.

Summer Tutoring

Dates: Session 1: June 2 -- June 13
Session 2: June 16 -- June 27
Session 3: July 21 -- August 1
Time: Math: 9:00 a.m. -- 10:30 a.m. (M-F)
English: 10:30 a.m. -- 12:00 p.m. (M-F)
Cost: $125 for 1 subject, 1 session
$225 for 2 subjects, 1 session

Tutoring classes will be available for students who are entering the seventh grade through the twelfth grade for the 2014-2015 school year. The summer tutoring program is designed to give your child the added help that may be necessary to help him/her succeed in the academic subject areas of math and/or English.

The following areas of math may be covered depending upon the needs of the students: Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, and Physics. The following areas of English will be covered depending upon the needs of the students: grammar (which includes the eight parts of speech, capitalization, and punctuation), composition (which includes writing outlines, paragraphs, essays, and general writing techniques), and reading comprehension techniques.

The cost of tutoring includes notes, work pages, and study sheets. Students will need to supply their own writing utensils as well as a spiral notebook for any extra writing to be done.

Each session will consist of an hour and a half long time period with a break when necessary. The first part of each day will be for math, while the second part will be for English. Students have the option of attending one or the other or both, depending upon the needs of the individual.
